Back story
Shinetsog Geni is a world-renowned master of the Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle), celebrated for his exceptional technique and artistic nuances. Originally from Mongolia, he has captivated audiences worldwide and won several Grand Prix titles at prestigious international festivals and competitions.
Shinetsog Geni comes from a family of artists and was strongly influenced by his mother, who encouraged his passion for music. At the age of seven, he wished for a horse as a gift, but instead, his mother gave him a beautifully crafted horsehead fiddle—an instrument that would shape his life.
He graduated from the Mongolian State Conservatory with a focus on the horsehead fiddle under the guidance of the respected teachers Amarjargal Ts., Buyanbaatar N., and Batchuluun Ts.
During his musical journey, he was part of classical music and academic theatre for opera and ballet arrangements in Mongolia and have joined international music competetions, such as the Austrian government opera or the Grand Prix of Folk music in Bulgaria in Europe. For several times, he has been nominated and awared as culture representive of Mongolia.
