South African duo reveals newest tunes
15 November 2024, South Africa – Future Radio, the innovative Pretoria-based rock band, returns with "Rise Again (Rock Version)," a powerful reimagining of their anti-bullying anthem from the impactful Rise show, a program addressing bullying in South African schools. Building on the success of the original release—which featured prominent South African artists Vusi Nova, Daniel Baron, Jemma Catherine, Martin Bester, and Jamie-Lee Sexton—this version amplifies the message of resilience and solidarity, inspiring listeners to rise above adversity.
With Future Radio’s signature rock style, this high-energy rendition delivers a potent message through driving rhythms and bold rock instrumentation. Guitarist and visual designer Drikus Roets explains, “Even though the original version was more commercial, this feels more true to our sound, so it was really cool to be able to reimagine it in our signature rock sound.”
The song also includes the powerful Zulu phrase "Asiphakame" (Let’s get up), underscoring the band’s call for unity and strength in the face of life’s challenges.
Johnny Late, Future Radio's frontman, adds, “This rock version of ‘Rise Again’ embodies everything we set out to say with this project. We want listeners to feel empowered, connect to the music, and feel inspired to take a stand.” The creative team at Muhn Creative is managing the social media rollout, ensuring that the track and its message of resilience reach a wide audience. Fans can look forward to additional engaging content, including a music video, live and acoustic versions, crafted to further ignite the fight against bullying.
With "Rise Again (Rock Version)," Future Radio empowers audiences once more, amplifying the themes of strength and unity that are at the heart of their Rise initiative.
